Schools Excess Liability Fund

The Schools Excess Liability Fund is a joint powers authority created under Title 1, Division 7, Chapter 5, Article 1 of the California Government Code. Our organization serves nearly half of the public school districts in the state and represents approximately 3 million students. Our members include many K-12 districts, community college districts, charter schools, county offices of education and regional occupational programs. We have been in business since 1986.

Our mission: SELF is a member-owned, statewide partnership of public educational agencies providing quality pooled programs for excess coverage that benefit our students.
